Lifting Tara Van Morsel

The challenge this go around was to lift Tara. She is an active member on the message board and one hellavah scrapper not to mention she is funny as hell.... I adore her to pieces and everything she does. However I am late with getting my layout. i got wrapped up in the crop we had and totally forgot. So i am working on my lift now. I'll come back and add it when it is done ;)

Kindergarten..sniff sniff!!

She started Kindergarten:

Aug 5 was the first day of school and she couldn’t be more excited. She picked out 1787675 gazillion outfits and kept changing her mind…she then settled that she would wear shorts and a cute top with her new Twinkle toes. Do you know the hell I went through for those Twinkle toes? Let’s just say I was exhausted because by all means those were the shoes she HAD to have or “her life would be ruined”. Deep Sigh!

Anyway…I drove her, she walked in, and I cried like a baby….just like I am doing now typing this. Why? She is still my baby..how has this happened so quick. Where is the time going? I am sad…very sad..on the flip side no more daycare bills. Woo to the Hoo!

She enjoyed her first day and all she talked about was going back…she is still on a school high. Every night we have to pick out what she is going to wear and matching accessories (ie: hairbows or ponies that match).

I am sad but I shall get over it.

Mason is has been a good big brother showing her the ropes of school..he even walks her to her class everyday...awwwww!!

and you see these shoes? These shoes were almost the death of me....Melana informed me that her "life would be ruined" if she didn't get these shoes...deep sigh!

Better yet...she talked me into some boot that come up to her knees as well... i told her no she could wait until it got cooler...she tells me then they will be sold out and she won't get her boots. So i get to the register and the lady tells me that the sale right now is buy one get one 1/2 off...melana looks at me and says all serious like...i guess i get my boots now then....{eyeroll} now what the hell does one say to that other than "melana go get the boots"..ahhhh the joys of raising a clothes and shoe horse...so we get in the car with the shoes...and she is happy as can be..wanting to know if she can wear her boots the first day of school...umm NOOO it is like 215 degrees outside and you have to wait until it gets cooler...this is her response..okay well can i wear them the second day? ummm nooooo {deep sigh} she wears me out...so instead she wears them around the house with her shorts and hannah montana dress (she is channeling her inner miley cyrus)


and of course mason had to have his chucks..in low this time around...

before i forget i wanted to tell everyone that I will be starting a hairbow's of the month club. It is a 3 month subscription. You will get 2 rocking bows a month.

Second Sub is for bracelets of the month club...same thing....20 slots available. You will receive one bracelet a month starting October 1 thru Dec 1.

3rd sub being offered is bottle cap necklace of the month club. same thing as the 2 above.

I am only taking 20 people and then the waiting list will start. Sub will start October 1 thru December 1.

i shall return with 1st day of school pics soon but for now i am off to finish my new outfit FOR BOYS to load in my etsy shop
and a few more different things lined up to make as well as examples.

Never in a million years

did i think when i showed some people my pillowcase dresses and my skirts and britches and bloomers and all that jazz did i expect to be so busy.

It's a good thing. I am loving all the custom orders I am getting.

This was a recent one from a girl at work who's baby girl is turning two.
She wanted a party outfit so that is what she got. This fabric SCREAMS party to me.




I made the flower pin out of the same fabric. And because every girl needs some bling on her birthday i added the glitter 2.

2 pager is the challenge

and boy was that a tough one for me. YIKES! i think i may have done a total of 3 2 page layouts in 10 years...yes seriously....i did enjoy it though.

Custom Orders

These were 2 custom orders for Michelle for her 2 princesses. I am currently working on other styles of clothing at this time and cannot wait to get a few pieces done.

I have loaded a few more things in the shop but i still have plenty more sections to get samples done...i need 7 or 8 more hours in a day {deep sigh}

These are some of the bows that were custom made for a few locals as well



Of course when i make sample i have to make them in Melana's size because she wants one of everything i make...as if she doesn't have enough....I have a clothes horse on my hands people and that is not going to be a good thing for mama's wallet.

This was one that she NEEEEEEEEDED...she is such drama and cracks me up daily with it.



I am loading stuff in the shop as I make it. I am going to upload quite a few things this week as well so if you are interested check back. I am working on being a one stop shop. Clothing, accessories, bows, bow holders, things for mom, ect...but only so many hours in the day :(

I am also really excited because i have teamed up with Lucky Kaeru Fabrics so if i don't have the fabric in stock I am confident she will... I love the variety she has to offer.

Well i am off to bed...i just finished a top and i am tired.

Altering things that were yucky

This week I am bringing you some altered items using the 5 foot 2 and eyes of bluekits.
There is only 1 main kit and 8 add on's left so if you want it now is the time to get it.



I made tis for my friends little girl to hold her ribbons and bows on. I know you can't see it but i have ribbon of all colors hanging from the bottom so she can clip them on and off easily. Now only will it be a ribbon holder but a cute piece to hang on her walls in her room for decoration.


This poor little fella here looked really bad before i got a hold of it. Remember those nasty "wood looking" frames but it was wood it was like that nasty contact paper covering it? yeah..well i peeled that mess off, sanded the real wood underneath it a bit and spray painted this baby with a semi gloss black paint (not digging the semi gloss all that much but i didn't realize it would be that glossy..next time i will use satin spray paint) anyway.... i flipped that nasty dingy looking matte over and painted it an olive green. Cut some paper added a few embellishments put it back together minus the glass and now i have a nice piece to hang on my fireplace.

I have 2 canvases i did as well i will upload those later...

but here are 2 pillowcase dresses i did...also for my friend who wanted the bow holder...
she order one that i just finished as well except it is going to be a shirt instead of a dress and paired with some shorts....as soon as i put the finishing touches on it i will upload. that is just a sample of what is coming to my etsy shoppe soon.
