Just thoughts....

Today i went to lunch with a dear friend of mine Jody and we were chit chatting about different things going on in our lives that keep us so busy and how chaotic our lives have been. We come to agree that right now we just are non stop..go..go..go. She said the only way she can keep up with me is through my blog.

I thought about what she said for a while and I have come to realize a few things.

1. I don't have to pick up the phone everyday and call her for her to understand how busy everyone is. She understands that because she is the same way.

2. Blogging makes me happy. It is my therapy. It's my stress reliever.

3. It is also a way for my family and friends to keep up with me and my family if they choose.

We as a society are busy doing our own thing and trying to take care of our family and go about our day to day lives as best we can.

Thank you to everyone who knows I am a busy bitch and for understanding that if I don't call you on an everyday basis it's not because I don't want to talk or chose to ignore you it's just time gets the best of me with 2 small kids.
Thank you to all of my blog buddies for putting up with my non sense and a big thank you for commenting and coming back for more ramblings of said non sense.

Past..Present...Future

or Yesterday..Today...Tomorrow...however you want to look at it...

I saw a couple of people (Sarah and Joycelyn) doing this on their blogs and were inspired by Jessie to do it and I thought it was pretty cool so I would jot down an few things I did.

Yesterday:

I could have bit your head off
I felt exausted
I was in mind but not body
Went to the orthodontist for what i thought was rubber band changes.
Left with my teeth sanded, filed in between with an electric file on the 4 top teeth changed my wire and to boot, i now have a power chain.
I went shopping after said ortho appt
ate ramen noodles for supper
played go-fish and memory with Mason and Melana

Today:
feeling better
teeth and mouth hurt like a mo-fo
wish i could have chowed down on my pork chop biscuit this a.m.
worn out like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest
but still managed to play go-fish with the kids
hopefully make it half way through the new series i am reading

Tomorrow:
clean my house before the long weekend
learn how to "master" my new printer and it's programs
watch some trash tv
find the new ink i just purchased for the old printer and exchange it for ink to the new printer
Hopefully finish Kisscut(by the weekend at least)

Katrina Anniversary..1 year ago today

One year ago today I never thought our lives would be forever changed the way it was. Fortunately for us we did not have any water. We had minor structural damage. When we were sitting in Jacksonville Florida and received a phone call from our cousin stating they were upstairs in our uncle's house which sat on the water 28 feet above sea level and they already had 4 feet of water. O'Neil and I knew we were coming home to a flooded out house or no house at all for that matter. Then the reality hit me...What about my mother, father and grandmother who had stayed? I knew if Biloxi was that bad I couldn't fathom what it was like where I grew up. Phone lines down, bridges completely wiped out, roads piled with debris to the point of no passing. Pure destruction and devastation. Where they alive? Did they drown? All these thoughts running through my head while trying to keep cheery and happy go lucky for my kids. O'Neil left Jacksonville the night of the 29th and returned home to start cleaning up. He went down to my mom's house and he was able to get a line out to tell me they were alive. The house had 8 feet of water and they rode out the storm in the attic. If the water would have risen anymore they would have drowned. They had no ax no saw, nothing. The water entered the house so fast it swept them off their feet and they were able to make it to the attic stairs.

I finally left Florida to make it home. I could have never prepared myself for the actual damage that had been done. The destruction, the devastation, the chaos that we would endure for the next several months. The media could not and had never done justice to the destruction as seeing it in person. It was horrible and something I hope we never have to go through again in our lifetime.

Here it is one year later and Biloxi looks better but it is far from "normal". Where I grew up still looks like the Hurricane hit yesterday. It is sad and depressing. I hate to go down there and visit but I know it makes my family happy so I do it.

sorry this one is blurry I was trying to get closer... anyway..
Bright and early this morning I get a call from daycare telling me they think Melana has another staph infection. What? You have got to be kidding me! So I tell Mary to draw a ring around it at least 4 cm away from where the redness stops and if it spreads call me. In the meantime I send my MIL to daycare with Atarax (of course she is alergic to benedryl it makes her crazier than a bed bug)for them to give her so she will quit scratching it. By the time my MIL gets to daycare they call me back and tell me it has went outside the lines. Great... right? So i call the dr.'s office they tell me to bring her in...I get there and he looks at it and does his thing and informs me that he Melana is a carrier of staph in her nose. WTF? So now not only do I have to apply bactroban on her infected area but i have to put it in her nose as well...yeah she is going to love me. Dr. M gave me Septra because it's the only oral medicine that is non resistant to MRSA. Geez..hopefull we won't end up in the hospital like last time. On a bright note Melana is happy about taking medicine. She loves it. I think I am raising a junkie. Sometimes I think she makes up stuff so she can have some medicine. Isn't that crazy?

Hope everybody's hump day is going better than mine.

Someone shoot me please!!!

I just have to say since my mother in law has been in town oneil and I have been taking advantage of going out....i am just not as young as i use to be...10 years ago i could go out party...sleep for a few hours go to work all day go home and do it again...now it take me 2 days to recover from one night out...good times though!!

Mason was riding his John Deere tractor around the yard and I was telling him how well he drives it. He skids the wheels...stops...turns back and looks at me and says "crazy woman drivers"...ugh ok.....guess that's another thing he picked up from his daddy...lol


I really don't feel up to typing so I leave you with pics from the weekend!

Today I played hookie from work to spend sometime with my Mother-in-law while she was down and O'Neil has been on vacation all week as well. I told him a while back I wanted a ribbon case to store all my scrapbooking ribbon in. So we go to Home Depot and get the materials and I tell him I want to build it. His response..."oh this should be interesting"..yeah lots of faith in me right?

So we take measurements and off to cutting we go:






So there you have it good folks...Greta building her very own ribbon storage case with the hubby laughing at me...especially when i got saw dust in my eyes..with glasses on mind you...how does that shit happen? I'll tell ya..it wasn't safety glasses it was my regular glasses...DUH!!

Before I put a pic of the finished product I need your help. I know what color I am leaning toward but I would appreciate your in put. I am still really undecided.

I love when the mother in law comes down...why?...because she cooks...
We all know my ass don't cook...(not that I can't)..i just don't like to
AT ALL!! We have popeyes..mcdonalds...burger king...pizza...taco bell...all that good stuff that makes you fat as hell...anyway
today she made homemade chocolate chip cookies that were to die for and she made me my weight watcher recipe for cauliflower...yummmmmyyyy!! and it is zero points..yes i damn near ate the whole head of cauliflower but i did share 2 with O'Neil..I thought that was pretty nice of me.

Here's the recipe for those interested:

Cauliflower poppers is the name
Points value= 0

INGREDIENTS:
1 small head of cauliflower (duh)
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp chili powder or more to taste
1/2 tsp table salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 sprays cooking spray

INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut cauliflower florets into grap size pieces (there should be about 4 cups)place cauliflower in a medium bowl add all ingredients above and toss making sure to coat them well

Coast baking sheet with cooking spray. Spread cauliflower on the baking sheet and bake until cauliflower is tender but not mushy. stirring halfway through about 10 minutes.

Voila! Let me know if you try it and how you like it.

Few funny things..

Yesterday I was sitting outside ont he back porch watching Mason play...Just his mannerisms and the things he was saying I said:

me: Mason you are just getting to be a big boy. You are growing up so fast.

Mason: (holding his hands up) I know mommy but i just can't learn how to be a big boy. I am sorry mommy I just can't.

me: It's ok man you will always be mommy's baby boy.

Mason: I know mommy but you just said i was a big boy and I am telling you I can't learn that.

Me: ok Mason..i got ya buddy..we on the same page...

Isn't he the cutest? The things that he comes up with just carcks me up..I like to refer to them as Masonism's.

Another funny thing that went on yesterday...everyone knows my mother in law is in town...(well if you didn't you do now) anywho...we were sitting outside melting in the 170 degree weather and she was talking and a bug flew in her mouth and she swallowed it....so instead of just taking a sip of water and washing mr. buggy down nooooo...what does she do..she starts hacking the damn bug up....well of course I was in hysterics..i was laughing so damn hard i couldn't even breath...she did manage however to hack the damn bug up take her a swig of her drink and continue her conversation where she left off before the bug flew in her mouth.

I was pissin my pants....

See folks..when people hurt themselves and do stuff like that mentioned above that is the funniest thing to me. One time O'Neil broke his little toe on the corner of the couch and I couldn't stop laughing and get up off the floor to even help him...or the time he damn near broke his back because he fell off the ladder and on top of a paint can...yeah that is funny as well...i know i am sick...but hey it's funny...even when i do it.

He caved and couldn't hold the secret any longer

actually..i think i wore him down..finally...he told me friday night we were going over to mobile to dinner and out clubbin...see he knows i love to party...so we got a hotel room in downtown mobile at the riverwalk hotel on water street and we walked to all the clubs around it. It was about 7 of us and we had the best time....we stumbled back to the hotel ummm around 4:30 in the morning and got up at 10. ugggghhhhh i was feeling R-O-U-G-H or RUFF...hehehehe anyway he just wanted to do a little something for me to let loose because he said I have been very "grunchy" ,that's what the kids call grouchy, it was nice. He also took me to michael's and bought me the tool set taht goes with my cricut. Isn't he the best? Sorry I have no pictures I broke my little camera a while back and haven't replaced it yet. I guess I could have borrowed Elizabeth's...shit...oh well...next time....

That's all folks nothing exciting...he just wanting to let me have my time.

When we got back we went to the Buckle (it's a store) and bought O'Neil some fine threads...he is all pimpin now....god that man is hot in these clothes...he better be for 3 button downs 4 t shirts by Obey...oh man those shirts feel so freaking good, a watch and 2 pairs a jeans....at the right price of 605.00....sweet mary mother of god. I hate dropping that kind of money in one stop...it just kills me. He's worth it though. I will have to get him to model some for me so you can see...

I guess i best get my butt back to work...hopefully i will get to blog tonight or tomorrow...I will be reading blogs throughout the day today so i can catch up.

Vacation time....

In October we are going to disney for 10 days and I cannot wait. We are going with some friends of ours. It is going to be a blast. We got a house off property about 12 minutes from disney and it is F-I-N-E..fine....you can see it here. We are leaving on the 6th and witll return the 16th I think it is. We will be having lunch at cinderella'a castle with cinderella and I know melana is just going to shit her pants. Mason...well he prolly won't care unless cinderella has big hoots. That seems to be all he is interested in...lol. I need to get on tonight and get the tickets for Mickey's not so scary Halloween which they do after hours and kick everybody else out the park so the kids can dress up and trick or treat. eeeekkkkk!! I am so excited.

I still don't know what O'Neil has up his sleeve for this weekend but it sure is killing me....uggghhhh!! I will report to you what it is on Sunday because I am sure i will not be blogging from this post until then. My mother in law is coming in tomorrow for 12 days so I will be a busy little bee these next few weeks. Hopefully she can help me organize my scrap space because lord knows it's halaious. I just bought some things at my lss and i cannot find them now. That's just rediculous.

Looky..Looky...Finally!!

My Cricut is finally freaking here after all these months of heartache. I have been through hell and back for this thing and I LOVE IT!!!!! (said in my best weezy voice from dragon tales) Oh my...it is definitly sleeping in between me and O'Neil (yes that is his first name) tonight. He don't know it yet though! lol

Okay enough of that...let's move on shall we? I have continued to be on a scrappin roll here lately and I suspect more will be coming now that I have received my handy dandy cricut. These are a few I did last night when I should have been folding and hanging up the 10 loads of laundry I have washed and dried. Yes 10 freaking loads...that's just damn ridiculous but hey a girl has her priorities and this week laundry is NOT one of them. Thursday night is cleaning night around the Adams house so I figured why not throw that with it.

And for no reason I thought I would also share pics of Melana because she is so sweet when she is sleeping. She has this thing for stuffed animals. Whenever she is in trouble, hurt, tired or some other drama is going on with her she wants her bear. This week it's the bear next week it could be something different.



O'Neil has something up his sleeve and I don't know what and it is driving me homicidal. I HATE SUPRISES!! HATE THEM!! So I hear him asking maw maw if she would keep Mason Saturday night and his mom is keeping Melana so I ask for what and he tells me not to let that worry me. UGGGGHHHHH!!!! So I try to get my best friend all growing up Mike to call and ask him and of course call me back and report back to me. O'Neil didn't fall for it so I still don't know what is going on and it is killing me. You see I am one of these people who will open up presents at Christmas and then re-wrap them..always..i don't like suprises...he refuses to put my gifts out anymore he will hide them...RAT BASTARD!! okay well enough of that I am tired of hearing myself talk or type..hehehe

I made this super simple card for my mom...her birthday is tomorrow. It is a "kit" type thing i received in the mail from simple scrapbooks along with a dvd a few months back...that dvd is awesome by the way. I decided I would break out one of those because truly I was on a time crunch and have been super busy lately scrapping my own stuff...isn't that terrible? So of course i used what was provided to me but then added my own little touches to it. I know she will love it. The kids also made her a card but i forgot to scan them and post them because...well...i am the mother of the year. That's all I have to say about that.

anyway here is one i did last night. I was trying to keep it super simple and using stuff that I have had for ages...and when I say ages I mean 4 or more years old....except for the cream of broccoli KI letters that spells "head".


Now I know it is hard to see the letters that spells head because they are transparent and it doesn't show up that well when scanned but it looks better in person. I wish they would make them in solid none see through. If they do I haven't seen them around here.

Anyway all you talented ladies I need help...i do have a block and don't know what to do with the middle of this layout i started back in 2003. Yes you heard right 2003. I did this back then and never finished it. Now I want to finish but just don't know what to do. I did however update the Layout by doodling on the stars with my new Glaze Sukura pens...oh i am in love with those pens....love them!!!

Can someone or all of you give me thoughts and suggestions so I can put this one to rest for good finally? Thanks girls!

Oh yeah and for shits and giggles....who knew palm trees looked like dicks before they sprouted? Certainly not me...but now I do and so i feel obligated to share this with you.
