Steppin up on the soap box!

The scrapbooking industry as a whole is *CA*-RAZY these people have lost their damn ever loving minds. This is what I have sat back and observed the past few months.

Certain MB owners are WHACKED OUT…when you make the statement you are never wrong…..that my friends just goes to show you how crazy and stupid, if I may add, that you are….Who besides this chick makes statements like that? Seriously. We are human, we make mistakes, everyone does! It just takes a big person to admit that and not claim to be perfect. Get some medicine for your bipolar YOU NEED IT!
If you do not conform to what this woman thinks and believes then YOU are the one that is wrong…ummm yeah..ok…nuff said. This is no way to run a business for sure, unless you are starting your own cult. In the same breath she says I respect everyone’s opinions and thoughts and we encourage you…again… nuff said!

Now, let’s talk about the people who think they are “scrap-lebrities” PUHLEEZE!! You’re only “somebody” in the scrapping world. If you were to go to wal-mart or target it’s not like you are Angelina Jolie or Madonna. You don’t have 100 people wanting your autograph so get over yourselves already. You are NOBODY FAMOUS in the “real” world!

They all think they take this great photography and it’s not great photography it’s great photoshopping. Let’s not mistake the two please because that bugs me. Sure, it takes great skill to manipulate photos in PS and make them look great but then don’t claim to be a great photographer, you’re a great photoshopper. Call it like it is and be proud of that.

People need to remember that they started scrapping for themselves or their families…that statement speaks for itself. You didn’t start scrapping by saying “OH let me scrap for everybody on the internet and so I can be famous and get published a lot” If that is why you started scrapping and someone tells me that I would seriously have to roll my eyes because I doubt I would believe that. This is a creative outlet for most of us to play and have fun. Some of us take this whole paper crafting WAAAAY too seriously. Everyone has their own style of scrapping and if you like it that is all that matters. You do not need validity from anyone else....Sure nice comments about your work are always a plus and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside but just because you don't get a bazillion comments doesn't mean you or your stuff are not awesome.

i personally ,when someone new comments on my blog, link on their name and hop on over to theirs and check them out and read their blog and leave a comment back. i love meeting new people. *so if you are a new reader or a stalker please say hi ;) well after this post you might run...lol or you can secretly agree with me. I get comments every now and then from someone who is pretty well known. I have to say i read her blog and i love her blog. i love to read about her travels, she has the cutest kids and she is even pretty darn cute herself and she is one hellava scrapper. i had never commented before but one particular post i did and low and behold she hopped over to my blog and left me a comment and has even come back and commented...shocked the hell out of me because i was truly thinking she was like the rest of them but she's not and i sure thought that was pretty damn cool. She is very very sweet. Any way I got side tracked so..there is way too much drama in this hobby. That’s right…. it is a HOBBY to most of us and i think that tends to be forgotten by most because they get caught up in the whole " i need to be somebody".

What i am trying to say is be real, be you, be true to yourself and don't sweat the small stuff. You CANNOT and WILL NOT ever please everybody. The only person you have to please is yourself.

This post is my opinions only and how I see it….if you do not agree that is fine too. I respect your opinions and welcome your thoughts on it even if you don’t agree with it. I am a big girl and I wear big girl panties :). But, if anyone feels the need to get disrespectful on MY blog then I would like for you to take a look at that red X in the right hand corner, push it with your mouse and move along.

Until i get together EXACTLY what i want to say in the next post i decided to post a layout i did using the new Cosmo Cricket paper pack i bought from Noel Mignon Scrap Store other stuff i got from elsewhere but we won't even go there JUST YET!! This is my new favorite line for boys as of today! That could change tomorrow but for now i likey alot!!

I took off Monday through Wednesday to spend some time with Mason and have 1 whole day to myself...I sooooo need it....

phew!!

Yep finally...I am skipping alot of stuff that has happend but it will be ok...

I'll start here:

Last weekend we had Melana's birthday. Remind me to NEVER do it at my house again...NEVER EVER!!! I thought i learned my lesson but apparently i didn't..

here are a few pictures from the party







She got lots of awesome clothes which she WASN'T impressed with...and a few toys which made mama very happy because she has enough crap. Her most prized possession comes from Simone who thought it would be a fabulous idea to get her a barbie head so she can practice on her hair for the next time simone comes down. (melana wanted to fix simone's hair every morning) and this barbie head came complete with barrettes, a curling iron and makeup applicator and the best thing of all A REMOVABLE DOG...isn't that just funny...and the dog's nappy ears were in a bad way. They for sure needed that nap combed out. So she worked on him for about 30 minutes until she got the genius idea to take some lipgloss and use that as hair product...yeah it's a mess...i have to wash now the barbie and the damn dog...

The next day after i spent 15 hours recouping over that party the kids wanted to jump some more in the jumpy so we left it up for a little longer and they jumped until there hearts were content...while jumpy melana was introduced to mr. static electricity.


and mason decided to give me one of those crazy faces...can't wait to scrap this one


All in all it was a good weekend I am glad it is over..Now baseball starts... Life begins to get hectic...

This weekend we had Melana's Birthday Party
Last Weekend was a easter egg hunt and a parade all in one day...
Mason started T-ball and life has truly become chaotic...

Happy Birthday to my baby girl

Melana turns the big 4 today...and she is growing up.


She got a phone call from the fabulous ms. Simone who told her that her present was in the mail and so she had to go outside and check...i had to explain to her that it would be here this week...lol poor thing....

so we ate cake and mason and melana performed for us...you can see for yourself here...bwhahahahahahah

Melana received a coloring book and a magnetic horse book from the awesome Mary Ann. Melana has been having a ball with the magnetic horse book....that was before she decided she would bust some moves like you saw in the second video....lol

Weekend update

Friday the kids had the option to dress up like their favorite book character so Mason wanted to be the cat in the hat...this is what he looked like...lol

all week was something different for book fair week...this day was the most fun though!

Saturday we took the kids out to the mall for the pirates and princess thing where we met up with Melana's BF Trinity whom she went to spend the night with. i thought for sure at bedtime I would get the phone call to come get her b/c she wanted to go home but shocking enough I DIDN'T...and i couldn't believe it. After we left there and Melana was on her way to Trinity's house we decided we would go a few houses down to some more friends of ours house for a birthday party and we drank beer and hung out. Mason decided he would Karaoke the song "before he cheats" by carrie underwood to us...we laughed...he is actually pretty good...( i forgot my camera)

I scrapped a little bit but i am still struggling like mad to get the mojo flowing.
I have been in the mood to finally scrap the disney pics from 2006 so I am tearing them up for now...i am sure i will get tired of scrapping that quickly!

Today we went back down to our friends house down the street and tore some crawfish slap the hell up and drank beer...ALOT of beer...
after getting our belly's full i decided i would try and get a pic or two of my men but umm yeah neither really wanted to cooperate with me.
i was trying to get a good pic of mason and oneil for scrapping purposes but mason wanted to act silly so this was about the best i got...AFTER i yelled stop squinting your eyes...open them up...i want to see them..yeah this is what he gave me

smarty pants...hmph!!

nothing much really going on down here in the deep south other than weather that can't make up it's mind if it wants to be cold or warm...sheesh!!!!
