this is what has been consuming all my time

June 7th i started on a Super Mario Quilt for Mason. This year his Christmas will be Mario themed....well last year too but this year a bit different.
This kid LIVES AND BREATHES all things Mario. So i tackled this.
Now grant you this is my very first EVER quilt so me being the insane person I am, I jump in head first and decided I'll make a full size.. OY! I'm chuggin along the top is almost done but this is pics I have so far.

the only character i have left to get sewed on is koopa and the top is done minus the brick border at the bottom and then the solid border on the sides.

His Christmas present from us is his room transformed into a scene out of the game.

My pal Elizabeth turned me on to this amazing site that sells these amazing mario re-stiks. Of course if it were me i would totally go old school. But it's Mason and he doesn't know about old school Mario. I'm going to have him fixed up! I can't wait to see it all come together. Alot of blood, sweat and tears is going into this but i know he will TOTALLY appreciate it.

Actually they are not babies anymore...sniff sniff...Melana thinks she is grown. She has changed so much over the last year and has lost almost all her baby features...Mason on the other hand lost them along time ago but i have been in denial...

The journaling is on the back and basically is a conversation her and i had. She wanted to know if she has been good this year and i said i don't know you will need to ask santa and she said well mom...hmm....and i could see the wheels spinning and she said define good to me...LMAO....so i said well good is when you listen the first time, clean your room up so i don't have things jabbing me in the foot everytime i go in it and the main thing is doing good and school and listening..then she busted out in tears and said...i guess i haven't been good then...bless her heart...she does good in school and that is about it....so the next day i come home and i am cooking and i see the windex and paper towels sitting out...i put it up and she comes back in and says she needs to clean the windows and glass doors so santa can see she keeps a clean house.... key word..SHE keeps a clean house....good grief... i plan on embroidering some shirts for sale in the etsy shop that says " Dear Santa, Define Good XO, "insert childs name" and whatever the kids name is that the parents order...fun right? Probably too late but i will jot that down for next year to do...

So much to do so little time.
What's been going on with everyone else?

It's Official...i have a 2nd grader

Monday we had to take Mason to test for the CREATE program ( that is the another name for the gifted program). He said he did really well he just missed 2 answers that he knows of for sure. This is after his daddy spent FOREVER pulling it out of him. This child just does not talk about things. For that matter he barely answers a question with more than 2 words…he did not get that from me or his daddy. That comes from his Honey and Popps ( my mom and dad)



Anyhoo…his report card came in the mail and I am happy to report in English he made a 99, Math a 100 and Reading a 98..all A’s and even got the principals award for all A honor roll the whole school year.



He shall be rewarded…

He's at it again

Mason decided he would kick off karaoke at my aunt's birthday bash on Friday.
He wanted to sing Bon Jovi Wanted Dead or alive. Now if you pay attention after Melana decides she wants to share the spotlight with him...she starts singing and he busts up with a shhhhh in the middle of his perfomance....i cracked up...
Sorry that you can't see them all that well it was getting dark but none the less you can still hear him.

WOW!! where to start other than today my phone rang and it was an "older" girl wanteing to talk to mason...after he gets off the phone i asked him who was on the phone and he tells me " i don't know"...umm yes you do who was it mason...."i forgot to ask" what do you mean you forgot to ask...it was a girl that rides the bus with me...well mason..what is her name...i don't know mom i really don't...well how did she get your number...she asked for it so i gave it to her... {insert huge eyeroll}

so we eat dinner and i dig in his folder from school to see what he has and what do i find...yep...i find "LOVE NOTES" from yet a 4th little girl...who happens to live 6 houses down from us... {big gulp} umm mason what is this...oh it's a love note or two...

OH BOY!! I am in trouble...

Yes i am alive

and I am boo-hooing something fierce...Mason started Kindergarten on Monday and mama didn't do so well.....i lost it...i cried like a baby...all the way to work all day at work and even on Tuesday I was still a lost puppy. Oneil took me out to the Outback last night for dinner as a happy to tey and get me to snap out of it.





i have some of him getting on the bus but i am too lazy to blog them right now...isn't that terrible? I am such a slacker...i know but truly i have enjoyed taking a break from blogging. But when I get settled I am *sure* I will be back with a vengence

2 smart boys in my house!

Today Mary called me from the daycare bright and early because she wanted to let me know about a conversation between Mason and his friend Coby. They apparently were putting together a puzzle and Mason was telling Coby about his daddy's birthday and that he was 32. Then Mary hears him tell Coby that I am 21. Mary of course says Mason who told you that your mom was 21? He replies with my daddy....I have 2 smart boys in my house...LOL...I have been 21 now for 9 years and I will continue to be 21!!!

Blech!

First Melana is sick....that is no fun....Mason is sick as well...it's raining and cold...i am cranky and i am super sad I didn't get to go to CHA. Oh well maybe in July again when it goes back to the fabulous city of Chicago...have i told you how much fun that city is? Man us fabulous girls, Elizabeth, me, and Simone tore that city UP!!
Maybe in 07! Then I will get to meet the spunky and oh so sassy Josie.
