Oh my goodness

First i want to say...i went to my dad's company picnic and let me just tell ya...WHOA!! i saw it all.. I will upload some of the things i saw so you can enjoy it with me...seriously...it was interesting to say the least... bitchy yes i know but whatever!

on to my layout for the newest challenge here at noel's.
This challenge is all about the BFF's, or besties or whatever you call it in your neck of the woods.

This is a pic of E and I when i dragged her to see Motley Crue with me in Feb. Well you know us 2 lushes have to get our Cat's Meow fix in the quarter. So this was hours prior to the concert.

This layout was alos for Virginia's Discover your style class. She wanted us to gather things we bought just because and make a layout with it so that is what i did...2 birds with 1 stone...love when i can do that :)



I learned so much in that class now to put it to use .

It's Official...i have a 2nd grader

Monday we had to take Mason to test for the CREATE program ( that is the another name for the gifted program). He said he did really well he just missed 2 answers that he knows of for sure. This is after his daddy spent FOREVER pulling it out of him. This child just does not talk about things. For that matter he barely answers a question with more than 2 words…he did not get that from me or his daddy. That comes from his Honey and Popps ( my mom and dad)



Anyhoo…his report card came in the mail and I am happy to report in English he made a 99, Math a 100 and Reading a 98..all A’s and even got the principals award for all A honor roll the whole school year.



He shall be rewarded…

I'm here...I'm here...barely

This is only a few photos i have left of my wedding day and when i saw this kit (Rise and Shine from Noel Mignon which is Sold Out) i knew i had to use it. These photos called my name and that is just what i did.





For the clear acrylic piece i used some of my alcohol inks and went to town. then i used the liquid pearls for some added oomph and texture around the scallops and in the center of the holes.

This is my "workbook" from Virginia's class. totally loved this class in a mad way. So full of useful information. Notice i said useful...some classes i have taken i have been like...umm WTF..seriously....but not this one...*so* glad i took it.


Also using the Rise and Shine Kit.

So what's happening peeps? I am still mad busy. it's summertime and i want to be outside chillaxin in the pool with a cocktail in hand and lots o sunscreen. So therefore i have neglected my poor blog and my google reader. {sniff sniff}

i'll be back and hopefully in a more regular blogging routine.

Layout Tag and a sketch

We play Layout tag on her message board.

i forgot to upload my layout i did for the tag ...see i swear i am losing my mind..
and i bet ya'll were like...ummm huh...what the hell is this crazy bitch talking about...yeah well....there it is...
Basically everyone signs up and it goes in order that you sign up. The hostess with the mostess picks a random layout and sends it to the first person on the list to gain inspiration from and makes a layout. then they email it back to the hostess who in turns sends the 1st persons layout to the second one and it keeps going until the list is complete...all layouts have to remain under wraps until the tag is finished..then the hostess reveals all of them in the order ..it is a blast to see the layout change from one to another to another..ect...

June Noel Mignon Kit

This was totally inspired by Katie Watson. She made a kick ass mini album and i knew i had to do something like it. This is a wall hanging for a "happy" to give to Mason's teacher.

This is my uncles restaurant in the French Quarter...they are always rated #1 hamburgers in the whole state of Louisiana and they are not lying...i could eat my weight in these babies. When i went for Mardi Gras i walked from our hotel on Bourbon to the Port because i cannot and will not go to the quarter and not eat one.

Challenge Week

Long time no post, eh?
I'm back...I'm refreshed, and i am ready to roll.

This week Noel challenged us to a heritage layout for the current challenge

I decided I would do a picture of myself. It was my very first Christmas back in 1977. it was fun doing this and the Nightingale Kit was PERFECT! I cut my brids out from the JB paper and watercolored them with Stampin Up's colored pencils. I cut out my circles from the Collage Press paper and adhered the middle one with a 3-d glue dot for dimension. Then i added some stickles. A girl has to have some bling bling on a layout right?

I have loved this kit. The colors of it are stunning. There are a few still available. If you are on the fence i suggest picking one up. i believe there on only a few left.

I hope to see lots of heritage layouts for this challenge.

Happy 7th Birthday to my baby

Today Mason turned 7 years old. I cannot believe how time just whizzes by. Next year he will be graduating high school at the rate time is going by.

Saturday we are going to have his party and he wanted a Super Mario party. Well let me tell ya. It's hard to find cute stuff so I did it all myself.

First we are going to play pin the mustache on Mario.

**No i did not draw this..my friend's 16 year old daughter did in a matter of about 10 minutes she had him sketched out and was working on the coloring. That girl is amazing. And she wanted to do cool checkered jumper so i said go for it..who cares...LOL...anyway back to the party details.

Next we will play Yoshi Egg smash...(O'Neil is going to stroke out on this game..lol)

These are real eggs that i put a hole in the end and dumped all the contents in and then washed the inside out real good and sprayed it with 409 and washed it again. I will stuff the inside with shredded paper and in 6 of them they will have a gold star in it. The kids will throw the eggs (one at a time) and see if they get the gold star. If they do they recieve extra gold coins.


This is the pouches they will have to hold the coins they collect from all the games



This is chain chomp. I bought an inflatable soccer ball for less than a buck and spray painted him black. Then i broke out my acrylics and painted him and with some staples and cardstock i made the chain. Isn't he so stinking cute?

This is the yoshi goodie bags that each child will get with candy and a stuffed turtle in it. Can't have a mario party without a turtle now can we?
Hanging all around the house and along my fence will be these coins


I also made Mario and Luigi hats but i forgot to take pics of them so you will have to see those later. I made them out of poster board.

Almost all these ideas came from Cool Party Blog. This lady has some fabulous ideas and she came to the rescue especially with Mario ideas. Check her out if you are planning your next birthday party.

Everything i made cost me little to nothing. I am going to go out to party city and get a soccer ball pinata and make a chain chomp for another game.

I cannot wait for this party. It is going to be so much fun. I don't know who is more excited me or mason...lol...oh and he wants to dress like mario for his party so mom is making his overalls but she is making them shorts instead of long pants...he will smother in this hot weather.

Wow! It's been a long time

Not sure if anyone has noticed but i have not been around at all. I haven't been to blogs, message boards, facebook, nothing. I have no desire. There is alot of things going on in my personal life and like the old saying goes when it rains it pours. Once everything straightens itself out I will be around more (i think).

I haven't scrapped in over a month and that i am not liking but when you're not feeling it ya just not feeling it....instead i have made my hands busy with other things such as hair bow making and sewing. My mom came over to keep me company one day and spent the night with me and she brought her machine and I had mine so we went to town on making some clothes. It was fun. I forgot how much I like to sew (not that i did a whole heck of alot but i can find my way around...lol) I cannot read patterns though i have to look at the pics...those pattern directions suck.

Anyway this is what mom and i have been doing

This one I am going to monogram a Big M on the front in hot pink. She will love that.
This was a pillowcase i got from big lots for a few bucks and it is 600 thread count and feels soooo good so i whipped this out in a matter of about 15 minutes
This is my most favorite fabric...of course right...i know you wouldn't have guessed that. The fabulous K-Liz made my apron out of this fabric. Remember that apron? Check a few post back if you don't and wanna see. Anyway so i decided to make this "pillowcase" style dress into a shirt and put pantaloons with it...eeekkk she is so cute in it...see look...

This one is sooo precious on her too...it has all kinds of good things in the fabric such as stars, flowers, crocs, frogs, peace signs ect....Mom did this one

this one has capri's that go with it...see them at the bottom.
This is pants with a ruffle.
I did this one based on the one mom did below only i made the flowered print one a shirt and matched it with the pantaloons i made. This is what she took her spring pics in..can't wait to get the back.




The 4 above mom also did those. See i told ya we have been sewing fools. And we are not done. She is going to be the cutest dressed kid in kindergarten. All her school shopping is done. I went to dillard's and racked up on stuff that was on sale. 750.00 worth for 105.00. Not bad if i do say so myself.

This is lana's bow holder. This was a prototype i made out of some leftover scraps of fabric. I didn't have enough tulle so the tulle is very scarce and short but the next one i make it will look like a long ball gown with the tulle. They are so cute.
I will monogram this too.


That is some of the bows I have made in the last few weeks. She will have a bow to match every outfit when i am done. LOL. I am thinking I will be putting some of this in my etsy shop in the future so if you are interested lemme know.

And last but not least the fabulous Tessa Ann Watte sent me some of her killa buttons to play with. I cannot wait to put those on hairbows or even a piece of melana's clothing.
