What would you do with yours? I would master the art of fondant and then make my own kids cakes... although fondant icing is pretty gross tasting...it sure does make for one puuurty cake!!

This was Mason's 1st day of Kindergarten...now he is goin in the 3rd grade...eeekkk... I'm trying to catch up :)

Last but not least if ya'll are still hanging with me... I saw a tutorial a long time ago on a purse made from a book and for whatever reason i remembered it. I cut out the pages of a Sue Grafton Book that I had double copies of and made this little purse for Melana...she thinks she is hot stuff now :)



After I took these pics I realized a few things needed fixing so I did that and also I know what not to do next time i make one. Which i am in the process of now because her little bff in the neighborhood wants one. We'll see if that one turns out a wee bit better in the inside...

I wish i had some football to watch :( instead i am drinking beer and eating lots of crawfish while soaking up some sun.

for my Paw Paw

We had a fun message board challenge going a few weeks back so I thought I would share my sketch with you if you are not a member of our rockin community.


For those that don't know I am a HUGE Saints Fan and I am very lucky I live in Saints Nation so for me this was bittersweet. This layout was very very emotional for me to scrap. Quite a few tears were shed during this scrap session ;) Many Many saints memories with my paw paw. I have a lot more i want to say so i will turn this into a 2 pager but the second page is going to be nothing but journaling.




i changed it to an 8.5x11 and turned it a bit...

Next up is my cute lil puppy dog who is now 10 weeks old. Her name is Tallulah Beignet but we call her Beignet. She's my Saints Superbowl doggie. Born 45 minutes after they won the Superbowl.

Meet Talullah Beignet

We call her Beignet (pronounced Ben-Yay) though.

She is a Maltipoo born 45 minutes after my beloved Saints won the superbowl.
It was destined for us to get her i tell ya.

She is 7 weeks old and weighs 3 pounds at best.


that is her favorite toy besides her itty bitty kong. Can't ya tell?

i'll have to get pics of her sister. My mom and dad bought the sister and she is all white except for a patch of black on her hind and one streak of black that looks like eyeliner extended from her eye. they named her Breesy (after Drew Brees; quarterback for the Saints).

Project Runway Obssession

I lurve me some project runway to the point where i am obssessed with it...i cannot wait until thursdays come so i can sit and be inspired. EVERY episode I gain so much inspiration. On Noel's Message Board we played a game of "Pair the Designers" We were paired up and had to do a sketch for our partner. Then watch the episode where it was for the American Heart Association and Campbell's Soup paired up for a gala and the winning designer's outfit was worn to raise money.

I wanted to try to incorporate the heart but i couldn't get it to work with the papers i was using therefore i used red. I also used my paperdoll as my "model" blinged her up some as one of debbies pics on the sketch and 2 photos with my clusters at the top for the journaling spot. My journaling like always is on the back.

this was so much fun and i hope we do this again. You can see all the other gals work here

Why can I NOT stay caught up

i try and try to stay caught up but something always happens and it is called life...and to be honest with you that is ok with me...we are living it to the fullest and i am enjoying every minute of it.

i have been sucking though at taking pictures. Melana pulled her first tooth out 2 weeks ago and i have yet to take a picture of that milestone...i'm terrible i tell ya.

We bought a new puppy and she is the cutest thing ever. i will post pics later this week of her. She is 7 weeks old and she's a Maltipoo!

Stay tuned for those but now i leave you one of my hubs in honor of his birthday.

Gasp..she did shabby..

So we all know i am totally not a shabby chic kinda gal. I mean i love the look of it i think it is feminine and pretty but that is just not my style.

When i first realized i was getting the Sold out Seaside Cottage kit from Noel Mignon i was sweating a tiny bit...okay who am i kidding...i was sweating bullets. Then i received the kit and started pulling it out and i fell in love...seriously all these layouts i have been doing with this kit has put themselves together. I can't get enough of it. I am starting to wonder if my style is changing....because seriously i can't wait for the next shabby kit she puts out :) You will be seeing more.









But for now I shall move on to the oh so springy/summer fabu Sonoma County Kit. (I believe she only has a few left). I have already put together one layout using it. And tonight i have high hopes of completing another one. My goal this week is one layout every night this week. So stay tuned for those.

Project Runway Challenge anyone?

Noel's is inspired by my love of Project Runway! I cannot get enough of this show. EVERY show is so inspiring i could really do a whole mini dedicated to each challenge they issue weekly (hey that is a thought) i just myight have to do this..anywhoo...

My layout really is based on a the fact that i sew (obviously) and my paper doll was my "model" just like the designers have to present their designs down the runway.
My journaling is on the back of my layout just like most of the layouts i do. Sometimes i put the journaling on the front and sometimes i put it on the back.

Proud mama Moment

Mason is like Melana he loves to draw, color, paint anything artsy however he doesn't do it as often as her. Melana will fill up a sketch pad in 2 days with drawings of all sorts of things. Mason not so much. Well for her birthday from my aunt she received some paints and watercolor stuff along with some of her own brushes and so on....last night these 2 were going to town with there art. i walked over to the table and i said Mason what are you drawing buddy he said oh this is my version of Starry Night. First I was looking at him like he was silly because of the fact that 1) he knew about Starry Night 2) how does he know about Van Gogh. It's not like i can afford any of those paintings...lol and 3) his version is amazing for being 8.

So he tells me a bit about Van Gogh and asked me who was my favorite and i said as a matter of fact i really dig Van Gogh's work and named a few others that is eye candy for me.
